Roman inscriptions from Paterna, Valencia, and Riba-Roja de Túria (Territorium of Valentia, Hispania Citerior)

Presentamos en estas páginas once nuevas inscripciones romanas sobre diversos soportes, que han aparecido en la última década en diferentes excavaciones en localidades próximas a Valencia y en la propia ciudad, todas ellas dentro del territorium de la antigua Valentia. This article presents eleven new Roman inscriptions on various supports that were found in the last decade in different excavations in locations situated in the vicinity of Valencia and in the city itself, all of them within the territorium of the ancient city of Valentia.

Presentamos en estas páginas ocho testimonios de inscripciones romanas que muestran la repetición de la fórmula D(is) M(anibus) s(acrum) o D(is) M(anibus). Todos los textos pueden ser datados entre los ss. II y III. La distribución geográfica de estos textos demuestra que se trata de testimonios aislados y que no guardan entre ellos ninguna relación. This article presents eight Roman inscriptions found in Hispania with reiteration of epigraphic formula D(is) M(anibus) s(acrum) or D(is) M(anibus). Una estela ibèrica trobada a Atzeneta del Maestrat (l'Alt Maestrat, Castelló)

We present the finding of an Iberian stele in the village of Atzeneta del Maestrat (Castellón). It is decorated with a cuirass disc on its front face, motif that is represented for the first time in the Iberian steles of the Valencian Country. Due to its characteristics, we connect this monument with the group of steles of Bajo Aragón, where we find the same motives in villages such as Vallderoures and Cretas (Teruel).

Due to their unique architecture and the exceptional dimensions of the largest monument in the group, the Arles-Fontvieille hypogea are among the most remarkable megalithic monuments in Europe and the western Mediterranean region. A collective research program was launched in 2013 to study these well-known monuments which have, paradoxically, been the subject of relatively few field studies since the 19th century. Bei einer archäologischen Voruntersuchung wurden in einem Gräberbereich nördlich der antiken Stadt zwei Bestattungen in Särgen und zwei Grabstelen entdeckt. Trotz einer übereinstimmenden Datierung Ende des 1. bis Anfang 2. Jahrhunderts und einer bestechenden Entsprechung von Alter und Geschlecht zwischen beiden Quellen, besteht keine direkte materielle Verbindung, die einen ursprünglichen Zusammenhang bestätigen würde.
